A big part of exploring any culture you visit has got to be experiencing its food. Asian cuisine is world-renowned for its variety, colours and flavours. When visiting a cosmopolitan city such as Taipei, there are many opportunities to sample foods from across the region and the Taipei 101 food court provides a mouthwatering range of options from which every gastronomic fan can sample and often without needing to break the bank!
The Food Court
Located in the basement of the shopping centre adjoining Taipei 101, this is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike throughout the day and evening. Many of the different food stalls stand ready around a large central table area, with a selection of restaurants mixed into the offering.
The food range
The Taipei 101 food court boasts examples from many of the Asian cuisines, offering a range of dishes to suit the majority of palettes, especially when its Asian location is considered. With dishes starting from NTD$40, they don’t have to break the bank either.
We ate at the food court twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. We ate at different places each time, sampling a selection of different dishes in the process, all of which were delicious.
Desserts, drinks and premium offerings
Once you’ve eaten your fill of mains from across the Asian continent, how about a dessert? Ice cream? Cake? What may take your fancy is probably available within or just next to the food court, depending upon your budget. Add to that the range of drinks that can be bought as part of food packages or from the juice bar and your meal is probably sewn up well as a gastronomic delight!
