Located in the suburbs of Taipei at the end of the MRT line, Beitou is the home of geologically active hot springs and was the scene of the emergence of the bathing culture introduced during Japanese colonial times.
From exploring the thermal valley’s hot springs, to visiting the hot spring museum located in a former bath house, there are many examples of this historic culture prevalent across the area. After walking alongside the river through Beitou park, why not relax in some of the public hot springs?
As with many capitals, Taipei is very cosmopolitan with a mix of historic cultural centres and attractions. However, Beitou provides a fairly unique escape from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. For more information on the opportunities at the Beitou Hot Springs area, check out our blog post.
