TEFL: Training in China – Day 1

As part of our week in Beijing, ImmerQi hosted the i-to-i TEFL practical training sessions. This video highlights how we got on during day one as we worked with James our trainer to put our online learning into practice. See how we develop the skills necessary to produce engaging yet effective TEFL lessons.

    Hi Claire and Anthony!

Thanks for the vid! Sounds like you guys are going to be wonderful TEFL teachers!

I am all booked the August 2015 Internship and finding your site very useful. So glad you are both settling in well. How are you liking Wuxi? Are there any other interns that were placed there with you?

I am both incredibly excited and nervous at the same time!! Thank you both for all your handy tips and posts! I am loving them! Can’t wait for your next addition.

Glad you found the video useful – we know it’s exactly the type of thing we would have loved to see to calm our nerves at times on the run up to getting out here!
We’re really enjoying Wuxi as well as it’s proximity to lots of other destinations in China including Suzhou and Shanghai. We’re actually currently collating footage to make a Wuxi video so that potential interns like yourself can see what it’s like to live and work in China.
There are no other interns placed with us which we were a little worried about on the day we found out BUT this has not been a problem at all as there are three other TEFL teachers in our school (American teachers, not interns) and the Chinese teachers are so friendly (and luckily speak fantastic English!)
If there is anything you would like us to blog or vlog about that would help you prepare for your upcoming internship then please let us know as we would be happy to look into it for you.

      Thanks again for your comments,
      Claire & Anthony
